Featured Emeritus: Professor Peter Howard
In his youth, Professor Howard had aspirations to work on the land, but when World War II broke out he became a fighter pilot in northern Australia and New Guinea.
After his discharge from the Royal Australian Air Force at the age of 21, he enrolled at the University of Adelaide where he earned a Bachelor of Science Honours (First Class) and the university medal. He was subsequently awarded scholarships to Harvard University where he gained his masters and PhD.
Emeritus Professor Peter Howard is a donor and member of the Lincoln Legacy Society. He is a founding member of the Library Friends Foundation and has donated a set of 16th Century books which are housed in the Library’s rare book collection.
