Elected staff and student representatives are included in the University's major governing bodies (Council, Academic Senate and Faculty Boards).
The Student Representative Committee is the main student group at the University and is formed of a mixture of elected and appointed student positions.
Current Elections
Staff elections
The following staff elections are scheduled for Session 2, 2023
1) FACULTY OF SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FACULTY BOARD
Term of Office 1 July 2024 – 30 June 2026
- ONE (1) CONTINUING ACADEMIC STAFF MEMBER FROM THE FOLLOWING DEPARTMENTS / SCHOOLS
- School of Natural Sciences
- School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences
- School of Computing
- School of Engineering
- Applied Biosciences
- Australian Astronomical Optics
2) MACQUARIE BUSINESS SCHOOL FACULTY BOARD
Term of Office 1 July 2024 – 30 June 2026
- ONE (1) CONTINUING ACADEMIC STAFF MEMBER FROM THE FOLLOWING DEPARTMENTS / SCHOOLS
- Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance
- Department of Actuarial Studies and Business Analytics
- Department of Applied Finance
- Department of Marketing
- Department of Management
Please note that the position for a member from the Department of Economics has a term of office that does not expire until February 2025, and will be part of a different election cycle.
The next scheduled student elections are for student members on Academic Senate and Faculty Boards in S2, 2024. Information will be available on this webpage and through student communication channels including email closer to the date of elections.
Nominations and Nomination Forms
Nominations for the Faculty Board elections listed above close at 3.00 pm on Wednesday 1 May 2024.
Each nomination must be submitted on the nomination form.
If you wish to nominate a scrutineer for the ballot draw you can also submit a ballot draw form. This is not compulsory.
