Research facilities and services

Our, and Macquarie University's, externally accessible research facilities and services include:

Australian Proteome Analysis Facility

Australian Proteome Analysis Facility

The Australian Proteome Analysis Facility provides access to equipment and expertise for measurement of proteins in biological samples. This discipline of ‘proteomics’ is an important part of understanding healthy biological functions in humans, and for understanding what goes wrong with proteins in specific diseases and conditions.

Simulation hub

Macquarie University Simulation Hub

The Simulation Hub, opened in 2015, is a purpose-built facility housing an extensive range of state-of-the-art simulation equipment including driving and flight simulators, a sports simulator, a virtual reality laboratory, a simulated bar and motion-capture facilities. It allows our researchers to investigate aspects of human performance safely and accurately across of a range of environments and in conditions that closely resemble the real world.

Macquarie University Hospital

Macquarie University Hospital and Clinics, and Macquarie Medical Imaging

Macquarie University Hospital and our outpatient clinics not only offer the highest quality of clinical care, but also support clinical research to push the boundaries of the healthcare that we offer. These clinical capabilities are complemented by the state-of-the-art imaging offered by Macquarie Medical Imaging in the hospital. These include two high-field 3 Tesla MRI scanners, a PET-CT scanner and a host of other imaging modalities – are used for clinical care and for innovative clinical research.

MQ Health Surgical Skills Centre and Anatomy Lab
