HDR Showcase 2018
The 2018 Linguistics HDR showcase was held on Friday 14th December.
PhD and MRes students presented ably across the spectrum of Linguistics. These presentations were professional and accessible.
Presentations were also given by staff members of the department.

Dr Lindsey Van Yper – The importance of disseminating PhD results
A panel discussion was chaired by Professor Linda Cupples. The members of the panel were: Anh Ton Nu, Xiaomin Zhang, Sixin Liao and Lindsey Van Yper. The topic of the discussion was The pros and cons of multi-supervision.
Dr Ashwin Singh from Campus Wellbeing talked about How to Deal with Stress During Your Candidature. This was found to be very helpful.
After the afternoon tea break the best presenters were announced. Congratulations Chi Lo, Khedir Almoayidi and Yulia Kharchenko.
The student volunteers also gave out funny gifts to some of the presenters.
Many thanks to the presenters, staff and students who attended. Special thanks goes to the student volunteers (Anh Ton Nu, Sixin Liao, Xiaomin Zhang and Yeong Ju Lee) for the excellent organisation of a very successful showcase.
