Linguistics graduates celebrate at the Australia Awards Celebration

On Monday, 3rd of December 2018, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) held their annual Australia Awards Celebration at the Crystal Ballroom in Luna Park. The Australia Awards Celebration gives graduating international students on an Australian scholarship scheme an opportunity to enjoy an official celebration for the culmination of their postgraduate studies. Most of these students are usually unable to return to Australia to experience and enjoy their actual graduation ceremonies the following year. Dr Loy Lising was invited to the event along with Natalie Lee, International Relations Manager for Macquarie International, to represent Macquarie University. Two of the Department's Master of Applied Linguistics and TESOL recent graduates, Marvin Gabatin from the Philippines and Rose Polume from PNG, were among the students celebrated at the event.
