More Information

Parents

Whether your child is following a family tradition of completing a university education or is the first in your family to attend university, the 21st century student often leads a busy and complex life, juggling study, paid work and leisure.

What to expect
University is different from school and often the transition from one to the other can cause some students to experience difficulties finding their feet and settling in. They go from being a big fish in a little pond to a little fish in a big pond, which can be very daunting.

Advice for parents
Although at University students are expected to be much more independent than at school, they are not completely on their in a system that doesn't care. The university has many support services and help available to assist their transition.
