The Vice-Chancellors report Macquarie@50 indicates research is to play an increasingly important role in the future development of the University. The overarching goal is to place Macquarie among the top eight research universities in Australia and among the top 200 in the world by its 50th birthday in 2014.
As sustainability issues take on increasing political significance, and attract corresponding funding as a result, this is an excellent opportunity for Macquarie to build on the considerable expertise amongst its researchers and to gain an international reputation for research in the field of sustainability. In order to help facilitate this, we are endeavouring to capture the names and interests of those who are involved in research in the field of sustainability to create a network of research and researchers.
