As the name suggests, global connections are those organisations and institutions predominately located out outside of Australia - though may have an Australian based presence.
University of Gloucestershire, UK
The University of Gloucestershire has been quite proactive in improving its sustainability performance. Prof. Daniella Tilbury, former Director of ARIES, was recently appointed Director, The Sustainability Institute, as a further show of commitment by the University as it strives for a systemic change towards sustainability.
University Leaders for a Sustainable Future (ULSF).
The Association of University Leaders for a Sustainable Future (ULSF) works to strengthen the capacity of colleges and universities to make sustainability and environmental literacy a major focus of teaching, research, service, and operations. ULSF is the secretariat for signatories of the Talloires Declaration (1990), which has been signed by over 350 university presidents and chancellors worldwide. While Macquarie University is not currently a signatory to the Talloires Declaration, this is something we are considering.
