Friends of National Lance Cove National Park
The local community group, Friends of Lane Cove National Park was
formed following the bushfires of January 1994. The Friends support the
Park's volunteer bushcare program through seeking new volunteers & providing
funds through membership fees & donations. In addition, the Friends apply
for Government,Council etc. grants to fund specific bush regeneration
projects. The Friends promote awareness of the Park's natural & cultural
heritage by providing information on conservation issues through printed
literature & displays involving the mobile education trailer & an
information/educational centre to be re-established at the Park Office.
There are currently 200 volunteers working on 25 sites within the Park.
