Macquarie University Mentors
Macquarie University Mentors is a peer support program providing help and advice for new students to navigate their first session at Macquarie.
Mentors focus on four key aspects of transitioning to university - academic, geographical, administrative and social - to help students explore the full range of opportunities available to them both inside and outside of the classroom.
Our Mentors are current student volunteers who provide a friendly face for new students when they first arrive on campus, and help them meet some new people through their peer group. In 2016, there are over 200 Mentors and while every Macquarie student can access the program, we give preference to students in their first session at Macquarie.
With your Mentor’s guidance and support, you will be able to:
- Find your way around the new physical and online learning spaces
- Know and understand how to use support services and facilities on offer
- Meet other students and staff through events like Orientation Week
- Feel connected to the Macquarie University community
