Direct applications

Direct entry pathways for TAFE graduates in the study areas outlined below.

Bachelor of Business Administration

(For TAFE Northern Sydney Institute graduates only)

Students from the Northern Sydney Institute of TAFE (Bradfield, Crows Nest, Hornsby, Meadowbank, North Sydney, Northern Beaches and Ryde Colleges) who have completed one of the following courses with a credit average or higher may apply online directly to Macquarie for admission to the Bachelor of Business Administration:

  • Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management
  • Advanced Diploma of Business
  • Advanced Diploma of Marketing
  • Advanced Diploma of Management

Successful applicants who have completed the relevant modules in one of the above courses will receive 24 credit points towards their Bachelor of Business Administration.

Students who have completed a previous version of one of the above courses, e.g. the Advanced Diploma of Business (Marketing) or Advanced Diploma of Business Management, may submit an application however their credit for previous studies will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Bachelor of Commerce - Professional Accounting

TAFE NSW Graduates who have completed an Associate Degree of Accounting within the previous two years and have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.7 can apply directly to Macquarie University for admission to the Bachelor of Commerce - Professional Accounting.

Applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Successful applicants will be eligible for a maximum of 42 credit points towards the Bachelor of Commerce - Professional Accounting.

Bachelor of IT (Games Design and Development)
Bachelor of Arts majoring in Interactivity and Games

(For TAFE Northern Sydney Institute graduates only)

TAFE NSW graduates who have completed a Diploma in Information Technology (Games Development) or the Diploma in Digital and Interactive Games (Programming) at Northern Sydney Institute can apply directly to Macquarie University for admission to the Bachelor of IT (Games Design and Development) or the Bachelor of Arts (Interactivity and Games).

Successful applicants will be eligible for 24 credit points towards their degree.

Bachelor of Science

TAFE NSW Graduates who have completed a Diploma in a related field of study can apply directly to Macquarie University for admission to the Bachelor of Science.

Applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Successful applicants will be eligible for 24 credit points towards the Bachelor of Science.

Availability

Internal is the default mode for these courses. Some units may be available via external studies. Further information on Macquarie degrees.

Bachelor of Environment
Bachelor of Science majoring in Environmental Management
Bachelor of Arts majoring in Environmental Management

Students from the Northern Sydney Institute of TAFE (Bradfield, Crows Nest, Hornsby, Meadowbank, North Sydney, Northern Beaches and Ryde Colleges) who have completed one of the following courses with a credit average or higher may apply online directly to Macquarie for admission to the Bachelor of Environment, Bachelor of Science majoring in Environmental Management or the Bachelor of Arts majoring in Environmental Management:

  • Advanced Diploma in Applied Environmental Management
  • Diploma of Conservation and Land Management

Successful applicants holding the Advanced Diploma will be eligible for 24 credit points towards their degree. Successful applicants holding the Diploma will be eligible for 18 credit points towards their degree.

How to Apply

Applications for Session 1 2017 are now open and close 3 February 2017.

STEP 1: Apply using the online application form.

STEP 2: You must upload the following documentation with your application:

  • Academic transcript of TAFE studies. Your transcript must show that you have completed a course recognised in one of the direct entry pathways listed above
  • Evidence of Australian Citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency

If you do not yet have your final TAFE transcripts, they must be submitted as soon as they are released from the TAFE institute. Instructions for how to submit additional documentation is provided during and after submission of your application. Please note you are not required to provide original or certified copies of these documents.

Notification of Outcome

You will be notified of the outcome of your application by email as soon as it becomes available.
