What is it?

The College offers diploma, foundation and intensive programs to help you transition into university study. The programs are taught in seven-week blocks called terms. Students study two units in each term, allowing focused and effective learning. 

Developed specifically to meet Macquarie’s entry requirements, the College offers four diplomas, a standard foundation program and intensive program which are designed so that upon successful completion you can go straight from your pathway studies into your chosen Macquarie University bachelor degree.

When you successfully complete your program, you will be guaranteed a place in a selected range of Macquarie University bachelor degrees, as long as you meet the relevant entry requirements.

Programs available

Diplomas

Diplomas are all 28 weeks (4 terms of 6 teaching weeks, plus orientation, exams and term breaks). Upon successful completion you will gain guaranteed entry into the second year of a relevant degree provided you meet the entry criteria.

Who are you?

A non-school applicant without the necessary qualifications for direct entry into a Macquarie degree. Applications will be assessed on a case by case basis.

How do you apply? 

For 2017 entry

Apply via University Admissions Centre (UAC)

For non-school applications who do not have adequate formal education but have informal learning of relevant work experience can submit the Portfolio Entry Form and additional information for alternative entry consideration. 

Portfolio Entry Criteria:

To be considered you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • you are an Australian citizen, permanent resident, Australian Permanent Humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen
  • you have not previously enrolled in a diploma/degree at a higher education provider, and
  • you have some assessable educational qualifications, training and/or relevant work experience.

  • Applications for Term 2 starting 27 February 2017 are now closed
  • Download the Portfolio Entry Form.
  • Once completed, upload the form and additional information via 'Check and Change' on UAC's website by Monday 30 January for February (Term 2) start. For July (Term 5) and October (Term 7) entry apply by 26 June 2017.

Foundation programs

Foundation programs prepare you for university studies by developing your academic and study skills in a supportive learning environment. Our small class sizes ensure you get personalised attention from our highly qualified and experienced teachers.

Standard foundation program: A 28 week (4 terms of 6 teaching weeks, plus exams and term breaks) program which allows you to gain access into the first year of a range degree programs, provided you meet the entry criteria. 

Intensive foundation program: A 14 week (2 terms of 6 teaching weeks, plus exams and term breaks) program which allows you to gain access into the first year of a range degree programs, provided you meet the entry criteria.

You need to submit an online application directly to Macquarie University. Follow the link above to your chosen course, click "view 2016" and select the "How to apply" tab. Once your application has been assessed, you will be contacted via your nominated email address.
