Short Term Exchange - University of Bergen

The University of Bergen has a renowned psychology program and offers a number of psychology units taught in English. As the study pattern for psychology is quite strict at Macquarie, the University of Bergen has taken the opportunity to offer a course of study in psychology to Macquarie students in January.

The following courses offered: PSYCH310A / Culture, Positive Development and Health (compulsory), PSYK303 / Medical Health Psychology (elective), PSYK302G / Culture and Psychopathology: Mental Health in a Cross-Cultural Perspective (elective). Students will be required to take one compulsory subject and one elective while at University of Bergen. Students must study a total of two subjects at the University of Bergen to receive 6 Credit Points of 300 level unspecified Psychology at Macquarie. Students are not permitted to only study one unit at the University of Bergen. All assessment will be conducted by University of Bergen.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled into an undergraduate degree at Macquarie University 
  • Students must have minimum GPA 2.5 of 4.0 at time of assessment
  • Completed a minimum 18 credit points at time of assessment
  • Eligible to take 300 level PSY at time of program and space in degree.
  • Pay the $50 Application Fee
  • Satisfy other criteria specified in the Student Exchange Policy.

Logistics Fees: Airfare: subject to change depending on time of booking. Students should not book until they receive official acceptance from Bergen. Accommodation approximately $1,000-$1,300. Living & travel expenses

Insurance: Travel insurance: must be purchased for duration of the trip. More information will be given to successful applicants.

Program Costs: Macquarie enrolment fees: students will be enrolled into corresponding Macquarie units, for which the usual fees (or HECS deferral) is due. Students do not pay tuition fees to University of Bergen.
