This program offers an exciting variety of modules on a fee-paying basis (Study Abroad), all developed by academics with national or international reputations for their research, so you will learn in an environment that is rich in creativity and new ideas. Roehampton is a small, friendly, collegiate community where students can live, learn and socialise together on a beautiful and historic campus in south-west London. We offer a range of excellent facilities as well as easy access to the world-class museums, libraries and galleries of London. By embarking on this period of study you will experience British university life, make new friends and immerse yourself in London, one of the world’s most exciting and cosmopolitan cities.

Course Details: Students are able to take the classes offer in the Session 2 of the Summer School only. Current MQ Approvals: Art in London Museums = 100 level Unspecified MMCS, Londonopolis ‐ Exploring the Global City = 200 level Unspecified ANTH. Cultural Component: The university provides a Social Program to enhance your time with us outside the classroom by organising weekend trips, day trips and evening activities in London that will offer you further insight into British culture, history and society whilst having fun with your fellow students.

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible for this program, you must: 

  • A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (varies each program), 
  • Completion of at least 12cp at the time of application. 18cp to go abroad, Enough credit points remaining to complete the program, 
  • Comply with the eligibility criteria outlined in the Student Exchange

Important notes:

Application Fee and Payment Options: For all exchange programs (semester and short term), there is a compulsory application fee. For more information and payment options please refer to the Cost and Funding Website

Logistics Fees: See host University website for fees. 

Insurance: It is a requirement of the exchange program that all students must purchase their own travel insurance to cover them for the duration of their entire journey overseas. More information will be given to students upon acceptance. 

Program Costs: As a study abroad student you pay tuition fees to host university. As such, you will not be enrolled at Macqaurie for the duration of your overseas studies. Program cost are listed on the host university website. You must also always be prepared for unexpected expenses, and should consider how you will be dealing with the expenses of your exchange before you leave your home country. Prior to departure, you will need to save sufficient funds to cover all of your expenses for the duration of your exchange. Some costs to consider include: airfares, students visa (if required), travel health insurance, accommodation, food, additional travel, entertainment, textbooks, incidental expense. If you wish to work while you are away, it is important to note that work rights for international students vary from country to country. For further information about your visa restrictions please contact the consulate or embassy of your host country.
