Biblical Archaeology in Israel: Intensive Holiday Course
The Bible remains the best-selling book of all time; a source of inspiration, devotion and history. But how does it stack up against the archaeological record? This course uncovers the rich history of Israel and the ancient Near East from settlement in Canaan to the conquest of Jerusalem by the Babylonians, with a fascinating mix of lectures and field trips.
The course is taught by some of the preeminent scholars in the field and includes a variety of trips to various archaeological sites throughout Israel.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for this program, you must:

  • A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher, 
  • Completion of at least 12cp at the time of application, 
  • Comply with the eligibility criteria outlined in the Student Exchange Policy, 
  • Enrolled in a relevant MQ degree with study relevant to Ancient Israel, Egypt and the Near East research topics

Important notes:

Application Fee and Payment Options: For all exchange programs (semester and short term), there is a compulsory application fee. For more information and payment options please refer to the Cost and Funding Website.
Logistics Fees: No fee
Insurance: It is a requirement of the exchange program that all students must purchase their own travel insurance to cover them for the duration of their entire journey overseas. More information will be given to students upon acceptance.

Program Costs: AUD $2,950 including accommodation, tours, lectures and academic program. Not covered: flights, food and personal items, HECS (if studying for credit). (NB: Costs may vary slightly). MQ Mobility Scholarship of AUD $1,500 if taking INTS103, plus Ancient Israel Program scholarship AUD $1,000 (for successful applicants).
