Lancaster University is ranked top ten in the Guardian League table and is consistently highly placed in all major league tables. This latest result comes shortly after Lancaster was announced to be the highest placed UK university in the Times Higher Education 100 Under 50 ranking of the world's best young universities. Lancaster University is a member of the N8 Group (which focuses on five areas of research: Ageing and Health; Energy; Molecular Engineering; Regenerative Medicine and Water) - a research partnership of the top 8 most research intensive universities in the North of England. 

Students at Lancaster University are more satisfied with their course than the average UK student according to the latest National Student Survey, in which the University achieved 91% on the 'overall student satisfaction' score, placing it firmly amongst the top 10 UK universities for that parameter. These results reflect the dedication of staff who work hard to ensure that every student who comes here will receive the very best education.

To be eligible for this program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Have nomination from Macquarie University
  • Have minimum GPA 3.0 out of 4.0
  • Have proficiency in English for non-native English speakers

Insurance: It is a requirement of the exchange program that all students must purchase their own travel insurance to cover them for the duration of their entire journey overseas.  

Program Costs: You remain enrolled and will continue to pay your tuition fees to Macquarie University. As an exchange student you pay no tuition fees to the host university. However, you must also be prepared for unexpected expenses, and should consider how you will be dealing with the expenses of your exchange before you leave your home country. Prior to departure, you will need to save sufficient funds to cover all of your expenses for the duration of your exchange. Some costs to consider may include: airfares, students visa (if required), travel health insurance, accommodation, food, additional travel, entertainment, textbooks, incidental expense. If you wish to work while you are away, it is important to note that work rights for international students could vary from country to country. For further information about your visa restrictions please contact the consulate or embassy of your host country.
