HECS Help Discount

HECS Help Discount

Payments for units in the same study period with the same census date will attract a 10%* discount if you are eligible for discount.

This means that a payment of at least $500 towards a student contribution before the census date entitles you to receive a 10% discount on the amount paid (including the first $500). You need only pay 90% of the total student contribution amount in any study period if you are making a full up-front payment.

Any upfront payment must be made by the University’s due date to avoid a $200 late payment fee.

*From 1 January 2012, the Australian Government changed the HECS-HELP discount, applied to up-front student contribution payments of $500 or more, from 20 per cent to 10 per cent.
