First Year Experience
First Year Experience assists students during their transition into their first year of study at Macquarie University.
our programs
The Macquarie Transition Program provides information and assistance to new students to adjust successfully to university life and study. The program includes:
- orientation days
- tours
- sessions with information on a range of topics including time management, writing skills, note-taking in lectures and using the Library.
The Macquarie Mentor Program assists new students to meet new people and get guidance to help them through their first, crucial weeks.
They will be linked to an experienced student who understands what it’s like to be in a new environment. These student mentors will usually meet new students on Orientation Day. They will help answer questions, conduct a campus tour and stay in touch during the first term.
