2011 Research Awards trailer

Length: 00:00:57 mins

Macquarie University will be one of Australia's leading research universities by 2014. Our international reputation rests on distinct research areas of the highest quality, and the Research Awards promote and reward excellence in all research activity at our University.

Research is the creation of new knowledge and/or the use of existing knowledge in a new and creative way to generate new concepts, methodologies and understandings. This could include synthesis and analysis of previous research to the extent that it is new and creative.

All staff and higher degree research students can enter individual or team-based research projects. Teams may include external partners to the University if the applicant is a Macquarie University staff member or higher degree research student and the research was undertaken here. Three nominees will be shortlisted in each category, and the winner will be announced during the Research Awards dinner on 12 October 2011, alongside our newly appointed Distinguished Professors.

The winner of the Early Career Researcher of the Year award is also announced on the night. Nominees for this award can find more information on the application process on the website.
