Session One - Extending the Conversation

9.30-10.00

Jelenko Dragisic Collaboration Strategist

The Future Belongs to Collaboration

The complexity of socio-economic, political and environmental issues in an unprecedentedly connected world, is at times a predicament that poses serious questions in respect to the capacity of traditional strategies.  Moreover, the compounded effect of learned approaches comes with almost automatic devotion to, and confidence in, existing structures.  However, living in an age of ‘anticipation of change’ comes with a demand for developing capabilities that allow enterprises to become accustomed to operating in an environment where innovation, entrepreneurialism and, above all, collaboration are practices of ‘new competition’.  Research endeavours will undoubtedly be directly impacted by the degree of understanding and, more importantly, integration of these factors.  Innovative strategies that allow for collaboration of the research community with broader stakeholders offer effective and sustainable alternatives.
