The Workshop will comprise:
Morning microscope sessions
'Teachers’ will present relevant background information regarding the materials they provide to the participants to take away to their home institutions for reference and future teaching. Materials inlcude slides, specimens, handouts. Note that slides being brought must be permannent and accompanied with a letter to adhere to Australian quarantine requirements. Please contact Veronica Peralta for this letter.
The sessions will ensure the community holds common concepts of key diatom groups that are important biostratigraphical and palaeoenvironmental indicies.
Afternoon thematic sessions
Presenters will focus on topics of common interest, new approaches, and current research projects. Please see program for more information
Evening social activities
An Ice Breaker the night prior to the commencement of the Workshop, will be a chance for an informal meet and greet with nibblies, drinks and speeches provided. The night will be opened by Lelsey Hughes, ARCNESS representative and Head of Department of Biological Sciences and hosted by Leanne Armand, local Workshop organising comittee.
This will be held at the scenically set and inspiriing Art Gallery at the university.
A memorable dinner with be held on Wednesday evening at Sydney's iconic Taronga Zoo, where we will be witness to Sydney's beautiful harbourviews.
