Uruguay - The National Research and Innovation Agency of Uruguay (ANII) and Macquarie Co-Funded Scholarship Program

Macquarie University has partnered with the National Research and Innovation Agency of Uruguay (ANII) to promote the training of Uruguayan students in a Masters or PhD program at Macquarie University in specific research disciplines via Co-Funded Scholarships.

About the Co-Funded Scholarship:

For a period of four years, 5 Co-Funded Scholarships per year will be offered to eligible Uruguayan students accepted into a Master of Research (MRes) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program at Macquarie University.

For a Master of Research program, the Co-Funded Scholarship will provide funding for:

  • Return Airfare between Uruguay and Australia
  • Overseas Health Cover
  • Full Tuition fees for up to 2 years
  • Scholarship payments valued at $22 000 for the 1st year of the Master of Research Program to assist in living costs.
  • A stipend paid at the Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) Rate (2016 Rate $26 288) in the 2nd year of the Master of Research Program

For a PhD program, the Co-Funded Scholarship will provide funding for:

  • Return Airfare between Uruguay and Australia
  • Overseas Health Cover
  • Full Tuition fees for up to 3 years
  • A stipend paid at the Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) Rate (2016 Rate $26 288) for up to 3 years

**Bundle Offers of Master of Research Year 2 + PhD will also be considered for the Co-Funded Scholarship**

A 50% tuition fees scholarship will also be offered to these students for programs offered by the Macquarie University English Language Centre

How to Apply

  1. Candidates must first apply to Macquarie University for admission and scholarship. For details on how to submit an application please go to the HDR application page. Please specify ‘ANII MACQUARIE’ on the Scholarship Details requirement.Candidates research projects should be from one of the Specific Research Disciplines listed below.
  2. Applications will be assessed at Macquarie University. Approximately 8 weeks after each of the deadlines (30 September, 31st March), Macquarie University will then send a list of eligible candidates to ANII.
  3. ANII will make the final selection of students and inform Macquarie University.
  4. Selected candidates will be given offers for the relevant higher degree research program

Deadline to Apply:

Macquarie University will have two application rounds.

The first round closes September 30th 2016. The second round closes March 31st 2017.
