Heart Foundation Australian Indigenous Scholarships
Heart Foundation research scholarships complement other PhD funding sources by strategically providing support for the development of cardiovascular research capacity in under-represented areas of expertise. The Australian Indigenous Scholarship is designed to encourage and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to undertake a PhD or Masters (by research) in cardiovascular research. The Heart Foundation believes that strengthening the research capacity and workforce in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cardiovascular research will, in turn, have a broader impact on the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Applicants must be identified Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Value and tenure: Stipend of $40,000 pro rata per annum, for up to 2 years for Masters and up to 3 years for PhD*.

Please email a word file of your final application to the Scholarships Officers at email@example.com by the internal closing date, with the electronic signature of the supervisor and Head of Department included. The Scholarships Officers will obtain Verification by Research Office and will arrange to submit your complete application directly to the Heart Foundation by the Heart Foundation closing date. If you plan to submit an application, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org at least one week before the Heart Foundation closing date, and please forward your application to us, to allow us to obtain verification from the Research Office.
