Next steps for approved applicants

Successful applicants - Outbound

  • Upon receiving the outcome, complete the application form for your host university
  • Acceptance by host university is received
  • Apply for your visa
  • Purchase your flight tickets
  • Purchase travel insurance to cover you for the duration of your time outside Australia.

While you are away

  • Meet your host university International Office staff upon arrival
  • Enrol in units to be undertaken at the Host University
  • Send your MRES Exchange advisor your Enrolment Form so that you can be enrolled at Macquarie simultaneously
  • Complete your approved units at your host university
  • Return to Macquarie University.

Upon your return

  • Contact the MRES Exchange Advisor upon arrival
  • Submit your transcript from overseas, MRES team will convert your grades to Macquarie equivalence.

Successful applicants - Inbound

  • Be nominated by your home university
  • Upon receiving the outcome, complete the Macquarie University application form for your host university
  • Acceptance by Macquarie university is received
  • Apply for your visa with the Cofnrmation of Enrolment (CoE) you wlll receive
  • Purchase your flight tickets
  • Purchase travel insurance to cover you for the duration of your time in Australia.

While you are away

  • Meet the Higher Degree Research Office staff upon arrival (you will receive a formal invitation)
  • Enrol in units to be undertaken at Macquarie University
  • Send your home University your Enrolment Form so that you can be enrolled at your Home University simultaneously
  • Complete your approved units at Macquarie University
  • Return to your Home University

Upon your return

  • Contact your Home University International Exchange Office
  • Please contact the Macquarie University Higher Degree Research Office on exchange@mq.edu.au to request your Macquarie academic transcript.
    Your transcript will be sent by the Higher Degree Research office to your Home University International Exchange Office.
