Current Macquarie students and recent graduates are making their marks on the international stage in Egyptology and we are pleased to acknowledge their achievements.

Camilla di Biase-Dyson
BA Ancient History (Hons I), 2003; PhD (Egyptology), 2008
In May 2009, Camilla took up the position of Research Fellow of the German Research Foundation Excellence Cluster "Topoi: The Formation and Transformation of Space and Knowledge in Ancient Civilizations" at the Free University of Berlin and the Humboldt University of Berlin. As of 2010 she is a Humboldt fellow at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin.

Amber Hood
BA Ancient History (Hons), 2006; PhD (current)
Amber has been awarded a prestigious Clarendon Scholarship to study a MSc Archaeological Sciences Degree at the University of Oxford.

Lesley Kinney
PhD (Egyptology), 2007
Lesley recently published her PhD thesis titled "Dance, Dancers and the Performance Cohort in the Old Kingdom". Professor Kanawati launched the book at Macquarie University on Friday 24th July.

Sasha Verma
MA (Egyptology), 2006
Since graduating with his Masters in Egyptology from Macquarie University in 2006, Sasha was visiting scholar at New York University in 2009 and in 2011 graduated with his PhD from Leiden University.

Todd Gillen

PhD (Ancient History), 2010
Todd graduated in 2010 with a PhD thesis titled "The year 5 inscription of Rameses III at Medinet Habu".  He currently works at the University of Liège as a Postdoctoral Fellow.

Alexandra Woods

PhD (Ancient History), 2008
Alexandra Woods is a lecturer in the Department of Ancient History, Faculty of Arts. She studied Egyptology and Ancient History at Macquarie University (2001-2003), and completed an Honours degree in Egyptology (2004) before undertaking doctoral studies at Macquarie (2005-2008) based on analysis of Old Kingdom art. At Macquarie University she now teaches Egyptology with a focus on art history and Old and Middle Kingdom studies.

Linda Evans

(Egyptology), 2007
Linda Evans is ARC Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Ancient History, and a member of the Ancient Cultures Research Centre. She studied Classical Studies and Psychology at the University of Adelaide (1980) and completed an Honours degree in Psychology (1981) before working in the field of biology in the United States (at Washington University in St Louis, Missouri; Rockefellefer University, New York; and the University of California, Davis). Upon returning to Australia in 1993, she completed both an MA (1998) and PhD (2007) in Egyptology at Macquarie University. 2011-2014 ARC Postdoctoral Fellow.
