4th Biennial Numismatics Conference of the Numismatic Association of Australia (26-27th November)
The Association`s fourth biennial conference, NAAC2011, will be held at the Australian Centre for Ancient Numismatic Studies, Macquarie University, 26 - 27 November 2011. The format will be similar to previous NAA conferences, but restricted to the weekend with the Saturday sessions devoted to ancients and the Sunday sessions covering all other numismatic topics. There will also be a conference dinner on the Saturday evening, at the Ranch Bistro in Herring Rd (cnr. Epping Road) just across the road from Macquarie University.

Professor Keith Rutter 2011 Gale Distinguished Lecturer in Numismatics (August 2011)
Professor Rutter, one of the most accomplished students of ancient numismatics today, is an Honorary Fellow & Professor Emeritus in Classics at the University of Edinburgh (from where he retired in 2002 from a Personal Chair in Greek History and Numismatics). A good deal of his research has been focused on the history and archaeology of South Italy and Sicily. Among his important publications on the numismatics of South Italy are Campanian Coinages (1979) and Greek Coinages of Southern Italy and Sicily (1997). He is also well know for his editorship of the volume on Italy in the standard reference series Historia Numorum(2001).

The 2011 Senior Visiting Fellow will be the distinguished French Numismatist Michel Amandry.
He is the author of Le monnayage des duovirs corinthiens, (Paris, 1988), and Le monnayage de l'atelier de Lyon (274-413) (Paris, 1989), in collaboration with P. Bastien and G. Gautier. He is best known today as one of the authors of Roman Provincial Coinage. I. From the death of Caesar to Vitellius (44 BC to AD 69) in collaboration with A. Burnett and P. P. Ripolles.
