- Coordinated and chaired a 1 day session, with Vice Chancellors and Senator Vanstone, examining the implications of the 1996-97 budget.

- Project managed the development of a set of costing guidelines for Australian TAFE International, 1996.
- Built a sophisticated cost model for one of Australia’s largest private schools, 1996.
- Project managed the development of a costing methodology for the Australian Higher Education sector commissioned by DETYA, 1998-99.
- Project managed 3 activity based costing engagements with; Murdoch University where we examined Finance and Human Resources, Charles Sturt where we examined the Faculty of Arts and RMIT where we examined the Facilities area, 1998 - 1999.
- Project managed an activity based costing engagement focused on the Information Technology Services and Library areas at the University of Newcastle, 2000.
- Project managed a strategic cost management engagement that examined all the support areas for Monash University, 2000-2001.
- Reviewed the “full cost” of operating an off-shore campus in conjunction with overseas business partners, 2001.
- Prepared feasibility and costing projections for the establishment of a new university campus in Malaysia, 2001.
- Supported Macquarie University with initiating a cost management project, 2002.

- Assisted the Canberra Institute of Technology with completing their institution wide costing study, 2003.
- Supported James Cook University with their institution wide strategic cost management project, 2004.
- Supported the University of South Australia with their institution wide strategic cost management project, 2005.

- Developed a transparent costing methodology for Singapore’s Ministry of Education, including provided support to the National University of Singapore, Singapore Management University, and Nanyang Technological University.

- Project managed 7 university benchmarking projects that examined a range of student administration processes, 1996-97.

- Project managed the development of a business case to replace the financial, human resources, facilities management, student administration, research and consultancy systems for a large NSW based university, 1998.

- Prior to consulting Steve worked in a senior capacity with several large private sector organisations: including Kimberly-Clark, BP Australia, Smorgon Glass, Lincoln Electric and the National Australia Bank.

From 1992 - 2000 Stephen also consulted to many of Australia’s largest corporate organisations. This included working with the following high profile clients: Telstra, Fujitsu, BHP, AMP, Commonwealth Bank, Kellogg’s, Qantas, State Street, Advance Bank and Woolworths.
