Review of Academic Programs Questionnaire

At the time of the review of academic structure, it was foreshadowed that the review would be followed by a university-wide examination and renewal of our curriculum. It is now necessary to ensure that our curriculum serves to position us to achieve the goals for excellence in teaching and research as set out in Macquarie@50. We need to refresh our approach to Learning and Teaching to attract high quality students.

The rationale for the review and the full process we are following is set out on this website at http://www.mq.edu.au/provost/reports/curriculum_review.html

We are seeking views from staff, students, and alumni, to use as input to the project. Please read the rationale and guiding principle before responding.

There are only three broad questions. Please respond in dot point form to assist us in analyzing responses. Responses from alumni are sought by May 2nd 2008.

1. What capabilities should a Macquarie graduate have? What should differentiate a Macquarie graduate from graduates of other universities?

-

2. What sort of learning experiences would assist in producing these capabilities?

-

3. How should a Macquarie degree be structured?

-

4. Any other points you wish to make concerning the Macquarie curriculum content or structure.
