Level B Schedule

Purpose To outline the type and level of experience, skills and knowledge expected for promotion to Level B.

Schedule

Meet the requirements of Level A, plus:

TEACHING
  • Ability to administer and co-ordinate units.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver quality curriculum and unit material as evidenced by students, supervisors and / or peers.
  • Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate and/or lead the activities of other Staff in teaching units, as appropriate to the discipline.
  • Evidence of a considered reflective approach to the design and development of teaching and learning experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching delivery modes and assessment tasks which reflect the learning needs of the students and the nature of the discipline.
  • Evidence that current research and practice informs learning and teaching practice.
  • Evidence of professional development in the scholarship of learning and teaching.
RESEARCH
  • A completed Doctoral Degree OR evidence of peer reviewed, independent research and/or standing/reputation considered to be of an equivalent standard in the discipline area.
  • Experience in research which has resulted in a well regarded record of publications in refereed journals, or other demonstrated scholarly activities.
  • Professional standing as evidenced by some of the following: refereeing for scholarly journals, examining HDR theses, citations, acceptances to present at national conferences.
  • A demonstrated ability to successfully supervise honours or postgraduate research students.   
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent and (where appropriate) team research in the discipline or related area.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
  • Administration primarily relating to activities within the Department or Faculty at the University.
  • Involved in initiatives to improve information to students, and/or improving the student experience.
  • Student Advising or other roles representing the University to potential and current students.
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and the community.
