Details

This is an opportunity to work as a researcher at the Learning and Teaching Centre. The research will take place part time in May - July 2013. You will be paid a tax free stipend equivalent to $2600 for 12 weeks. To apply, you need to approach an academic at your department of study who will support your application, negotiate a possible topic in learning and teaching and jointly submit a research proposal. You will be required to commit to the full 12 weeks and be available to present your final project report at the Australasian Conference of Undergraduate Research 2013. You will be expected to be an ambassador for Undergraduate Research at Macquarie and to communicate with other scholars during the project activity.

Applicants will need to demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Superior organization skills
  • Capacity to commit to a project and pursue it to the end
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Interest in doing research in education or the social sciences
  • Demonstrated excellent academic performance
  • Commitment to be an ambassador for Undergraduate Research
  • Interest in conference organisation

  • Research project proposal which should include:
    1. An issue or question to be investigated
    2. Brief background of the issue
    3. A description of the project methodology
    4. Plan and timeline for completing proposed project
    5. Project rationale or need for research
  • Letter of endorsement of an academic who agrees to support the project
