TEDS Reports
The Report
The report you will receive consists of three components:
- The quantitative report - with descriptive statistics summarising your students' responses - see sample for LET (PDF) and LEU (PDF).
- The questionnaire forms - for the students' comments.
- Reflection sheets - see sample for Teachers and Unit convenors (Word).
- At the end of the semester, all departments and divisions will receive unit and aggregated reports of all the units evaluated within the department and division.
All reports will be sent after the examination results are released.
Making the most of your evaluation
To make the most of your evaluation, we suggest you:
- Fill out one of the questionnaires yourself, and compare your perception with the students' when you receive the reports.
- Give feedback to the students on the results from the evaluation, including their concerns, complaints or suggestions. This feedback can also be given to your next group of students. It reassures the students that their views are heard and that changes are made as a result.
- Make use of the reflection sheets which are designed to help you to summarise:
- any issues the students may have recorded on their questionnaires
- your own feelings on the class
- your plan for action in response to the issues raised
These reflections can be used as evidence of critical reflective practice that is necessary not only for your teaching development but also for Performance Management activities.
For tutors, you may use this Tutor Reflection Sheet template to provide feedback to your unit convenor. It has been developed to enable you to consider the feedback you receive from students, your experience of teaching in the course and your professional development needs. Unit convenors can use this feedback for the purpose of course unit and teaching development.
