Learning and Teaching Centre
Survey Administration
Paper-Based Surveys
- At the BEGINNING of the class period please tell your students:
- You would like them to give you feedback on your teaching and/or the unit and to fill in the forms;
- The responses are anonymous;
- The results will be processed by TEDS at the Learning & Teaching Centre (LTC);
- A summary report on the ratings and the open-ended student responses will be returned to you after the examination period.
- Ask a student (or students) to distribute the questionnaires among the class and to collect them after everyone has finished (about 10-15 minutes). This should be done at the beginning of the class period to allow enough time and the teacher must be present during this procedure.
- In the presence of the teacher and the class, a student is to put the questionnaires into the addressed envelope (which we provide), seal it, sign across the seal, and give it to the teacher.
- Please make sure the Unit Code is written across the top left hand corner of the addressed envelope.
- The envelope should be mailed to TEDS (at the LTC) the same or following day by the teacher.
Online Surveys
Online delivery is only recommended for online units delivered via learn.mq.edu.au In addition, it is recommended that:
- the online unit is a compulsory, rather than an optional component of the course, or
- all students regularly access and use the online unit.
TEDS will create the survey, get the list of students who will be able to access the survey and then link the survey to your unit home page.
It is important that you inform your students about the survey, advise them of its presence on the unit's homepage, the times it will be available and encourage them to complete it.
Ensure that the link to the survey is active at the specified times and remove the survey link once the survey is no longer active.
At the end of the semester, TEDS will return the survey report in accordance with standard procedures.
