A Voice from China (10 June, MQ)

Written by Agnes Bosanquet on June 5th, 2009

Due to popular demand, LTC’s visiting scholar Guangxi University, Liyun Huang, is repeating the following workshop:

A Voice from China: Understanding the expectations of Chinese students as they make the transition to University Study

Data collected in 2008 shows that international students studying at Macquarie spend much more time on campus than other students and that they are working very hard to understand what is expected of them in the context of university study.  Liyun Huang, visiting scholar from Guangxi University, will explore some of the issues that she has considered in students making the transition to university study in China.  She will discuss issues such as the expectations that students have of the curriculum, of the systems of pastoral support and of the ways in which they understand how to structure their individual study time.  This workshop will be of interest to those teaching students who have come from Mainland China.

When: Wednesday 10 June
Where: E6A, 116
Time: 1pm-2pm

Enrol here.

And a quick reminder about the workshop on June 11 Higher Ed Reviews and News where we discuss Bradley, Cutler, the Budget and us!
