Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Excellence in Higher Degree Research Supervision

One award for excellence in HDR supervision is made each year. HDR Supervisors with an outstanding track record of completions and quality supervisory practices are encouraged to apply. The criteria for the award are:

  1. An outstanding track record in higher degree research supervision
  2. Scholarship in Supervision and Research Training
  3. Support for the development of students as individuals
  4. Support for students' career development
  5. Contribution to the development of excellent supervision practices within faculties or the wider University

Applications will be called for in September each year along with all other Vice-Chancellor's Learning and Teaching Awards.

MUPRA Supervisor of The Year Award

At the beginning of each year MUPRA hosts the Supervisor of the Year Award, to recognize the massive effort put in by so many academics and to encourage great supervisory practices. All MQ Postgraduate research students are eligible to nominate their own supervisor after they have completed twelve months of study at postgraduate level.
