Fees and Regulations

Information on ticket prices is available at Sydney Buses. See other bus company links for bus fare information. If you travel by bus on Sydney Bus services, an Opal card or MyBus ticket is usually your best option. You can use MyBus tickets on all government and private buses in Sydney, the Blue Mountains, the Central Coast, Hunter and Illawarra areas.  You can purchase MyBus tickets as a single or TravelTen (10 trips). These tickets can be purchased from the Campus Hub "Spot" (in Building C10A) and local newsagents. Please note that in NSW, the only international students permitted to receive student concession fares are those sponsored by the Australian Government or students involved in formal university exchange programs.

Information for Students - Concession fares on public transport...

Public transport concessions allow students to receive a discounted fare on Cityrail trains, Sydney buses and ferries.

To be eligible, the student must:

  • be an Australian citizen or hold a Permanent Resident visa
  • be a full-time student, enrolled in internal classes (not external mode)
  • not receive any remuneration (scholarships and allowances such as Austudy and the Youth Allowance are not counted as remuneration)

To receive a transport concession sticker, students may either be given one at their enrolment at the start of the year, or obtain one from the Student Enquiry Service (Level 1, Lincoln Building, C8A). The Student Enquiry Service normally administers this from week 3 of each semester. Concession stickers are valid until the end of March the following year, eg the 2014 sticker will be valid until 31st March 2015. Please remember to renew your concession sticker if you are eligible.

Please note that in NSW, the only international students permitted to receive student concession fares are those sponsored by the Australian Government or students involved in formal university exchange programs.
