MQAS-National Accessibility Support Service (NASS)

Supporting education providers develop inclusive online learning

MQAS- NASS provides direct access to a team of educational developers, academic developers, instructional designers, support staff (EADIDSS group) and accessibility advisors who use assistive technologies for their daily communication and learning.

MQAS NASS provides two services:

MQAS-Orange Support Service.

This is to be accessed during the development phase of a learning unit.

MQAS-Orange provides to all members of a unit development team the following for the life of the development phase:

  • Friendly just in time phone support of an accessibility advisor
  • Online support and advice from the MQAS EADIDSS group where development issues can be discussed and solutions sought for accessibility challenges.
  • Online community with others at the development stage of a unit.
  • Online resources
  • Checking of the online unit using the MQAS-Green tool prior to launch

Price for accessing this service is a one-off fee of $1000 per unit. There is no charge for Macquarie University Staff.

NB All staff involved in the development of the unit can have access to this service

MQAS - Green Support Service.

This service checks the unit prior to it being launched.

MQAS staff check the online unit using the MQAS-Green tool and provide a diagnostic for the unit.

Price for accessing this service is a one-off fee of $500 per unit. There is no charge for Macquarie University Staff.

NB This price does not include development support. It is a checking service only. If further work is required to ensure that a unit is accessible, MQAS-Orange support service is recommended.
