MQAS-National Accessibility Support Service (NASS)
Supporting education providers develop inclusive online learning
MQAS- NASS provides direct access to a team of educational developers, academic developers, instructional designers, support staff (EADIDSS group) and accessibility advisors who use assistive technologies for their daily communication and learning.
MQAS NASS provides two services:
MQAS-Orange Support Service.
This is to be accessed during the development phase of a learning unit.
MQAS-Orange provides to all members of a unit development team the following for the life of the development phase:
- Friendly just in time phone support of an accessibility advisor
- Online support and advice from the MQAS EADIDSS group where development issues can be discussed and solutions sought for accessibility challenges.
- Online community with others at the development stage of a unit.
- Online resources
- Checking of the online unit using the MQAS-Green tool prior to launch
Price for accessing this service is a one-off fee of $1000 per unit. There is no charge for Macquarie University Staff.
NB All staff involved in the development of the unit can have access to this service
MQAS - Green Support Service.
This service checks the unit prior to it being launched.
MQAS staff check the online unit using the MQAS-Green tool and provide a diagnostic for the unit.
Price for accessing this service is a one-off fee of $500 per unit. There is no charge for Macquarie University Staff.
NB This price does not include development support. It is a checking service only. If further work is required to ensure that a unit is accessible, MQAS-Orange support service is recommended.
