Submission of Assignment via e-mail:
If you choose to submit your assignment by email, please email it to coeassign@mq.edu.au and make sure you have followed the guidelines listed below:
How to format your assignment?
- Send the assignment from your Macquarie University student email account only. eAssignment sent from other email accounts cannot be accepted.
- The Email Subject line should be filled in as follows: Unit Code - Assignment Number (two characters) - Your Student Number (e.g. ENGL101-01-41637133).
- Your assignment must be sent within a single attachment to the email including the cover sheet and plagiarism declaration as well as the Bibliography and Appendices.
- The attachment should be named in the same way as the Subject of the email; e.g. ENGL101_01_41637133.doc. This is so staff at the Centre for Open Education can easily identify your assignment.
- The Cover Sheet and Plagiarism declaration should be completed (typed) and saved as the FIRST PAGE of your assignment. You can download the forms in word or pdf format.
- Your assignment will only be accepted in Microsoft Word (in the format word.doc), RTF (Rich Text Format, rtf) or Adobe PDF. Any data which is not in the above formats will not be printed.
- Send the assignment to coeassign@mq.edu.au via your Macquarie University student email account.
Receipt of Assignment
The University's email system will generate an automated reply when the Centre receives your assignment. If there is a problem such as: no assignment attached; not able to print the attachment; no cover sheet etc., a staff member will send you an email to your Macquarie student email account describing the problem.
Please check your student email account two working days after sending your assignment, to confirm that we have not experienced problems receiving your assignment. The assignment will be date-stamped according to the date of receipt of the email from which we can successfully print the assignment.
After sending you an email stating a problem exists with your assignment, we expect a corrected version. If we have not received a response within two days, we will send you another email stating the problem. COE staff will take no further action if there is no response to our second email to you. Staff will assume you are no longer submitting the assignment and nothing will be sent to the marker.
Please Note:
- Only one attachment (the assignment) can be submitted. Emails containing more than one attachment will not be printed. This will be strictly adhered to.
- The Centre does not archive copies of submitted assignments, and all assignments will be deleted after receipt and printing. Therefore, it remains necessary for you to retain a copy of each assignment.
- Open Universities Australia students studying at Macquarie University should not submit their assignments to coeassign@mq.edu.au. Please check your unit page in Blackboard or refer to your Student Information Handbook for details on how to submit your assignment.
