Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost, Professor Judyth Sachs

Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost, Professor Judyth SachsProfessor Judyth Sachs joined Macquarie University as Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost in December 2006. She came to Macquarie from the University of Sydney where she had been Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching) and Chair of the Academic Board and Professor of Education.

Since her appointment at Macquarie, Professor Sachs has led significant change - leading the Review of the Organisation Structure which resulted in the creation of four faculties out of the previous 9 divisions. She has led reviews of both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate curricula and Student Administrative Services. A new undergraduate curriculum was implemented in 2010 and post graduate coursework programs are currently being renewed. She has established the University's Quality Enhancement Framework and brought all University policies into Policy Central.

Professor Sachs continues to publish in the area of teacher professionalism and professional development, women and leadership, and higher education policy. She supervises higher degree research students and is currently involved in three Australian Learning and Teaching Council grants, including the Teaching Standards Framework project.

Professor Sachs is an accredited auditor for AUQA, the New Zealand Higher Education Quality Agency and the Oman Accreditation Council. She is a member of a three person external panel of experts advising Lund University, Sweden.
