Overview
At Macquarie, the Quality Enhancement Framework is a systematic, future directed, continuous cycle of goal setting, planning, managing and reviewing, aimed at transformation and reaching the goals of Macquarie@50 (PDF).
Macquarie University has established a culture of continuous improvement which is based on review and reflective learning, and is intrinsic to the work of all staff undertaking or supporting research, learning and teaching and supporting the student experience.
The Framework is a continuous cycle made up of four elements:
- Institutional and Academic Governance
- Strategic Planning
- Management
- Evaluation, reviews and reporting
Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA)
The Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA) carries out quality audit of universities and reviews the existence of quality processes and their effectiveness in
- achieving the institution's stated objectives
- producing the desired outcomes and
- meeting the needs of the institution's identified constituencies
AUQA made an onshore audit visit to Macquarie over 28-31 October, 2002 and an offshore audit visit to Macquarie's partners in China and Singapore over 25-27 November, 2002. The key documents surrounding this visit are available at AUQA1, October 2002.
