Bushcare@MQ

Date:
22 June 2017

Time:
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Come and do some good for biodiversity on the campus wetland. The upper section of Mars Creek has been transformed into nature corridor. First rehabilitated from a bare, eroded state in 2012, a young forest is now burgeoning with growth.

This bushcare event will involve pruning back particular over-dominant plants, to ensure we end up with a wide diversity of creek-side habitats. Our work will fine tune the ecology of the young forest and floodplain wetlands, as the vegetation comes into its adolescence.

We have a Facebook Bushcare@MQ group – join our growing community to stay in touch.

  • When: Thursday 22 June, 2 – 4pm
  • Where: Meet at the Mars Creek Wetlands, North-West of Y3
  • Cost: Free
  • RSVP: Not essential, unless you are bringing a large group. Please email sustainability@mq.edu.au
