Where to park

There are marked parking bays in car parks across Campus. Some car parks are for Permit Holders only whilst others are Pay & Display. See the main Campus Map page for locations.

Parking Restrictions on Campus apply from 6.00am until 8.00pm, 7 days per week.

Pay & Display Parking:

Pay & Display Parking tickets are available from ticket dispensing machines located at the following locations:

  • Kerbside Aquatic Centre - 1 hour parking only
  • N1 Carpark - 1 hour parking only
  • N3 Carpark (near Culloden Road)
  • W4 Carpark (south of building W6A)
  • X3 Carpark (south of building X5A)
  • X4 Carpark (south of Banksia Cottage)

Pay and display ticket holders may only park in these car parks and a valid ticket must be displayed on the dashboard. Note that ticket dispensing machines accept only gold coins or credit cards. 

Disability Parking

Australian Disability Parking Scheme permits are honoured at Macquarie University. Vehicles displaying these permits may park in specially designated 'disabled only' spaces, or general parking areas at no charge. See Accessibility Map.

Temporary Disability Parking

Students or staff members who have a short-term mobility limitation (eg, recent surgery, broken limb) may obtain a 'Temporary Disability' permit for a period of time. A supporting medical report is required prior to the issue of this permit. Both a valid University permit and the "Temporary Disability' permit must be displayed inside the driver's side of the windscreen when parking in a disabled only parking space. 

Dedicated Parking

There are marked parking bays dedicated for use by specific positions, individuals or group(s). Dedicated parking is controlled by means of posted signs and/or physical barriers such as lockable bollards and boom gates.

Motorcycle Parking

Motorcycle parking is provided in specially marked bays and areas throughout the Campus. Motorcycles do not need to pay or obtain entry permits if they park in these designated bays.

Other Parking

Australian Hearing Hub

This area is a restricted parking area for tenants of the building and visitor parking only. Arrangements must be made directly with the building manager or the front desk concierge.

Cochlear Building

This area is a restricted parking area for tenants of the building and visitor parking only. Arrangements must be made directly with the building manager or front desk reception.

Macquarie University Hospital

Parking is available for visitors and patients in the marked bays at the front of the Clinic Building or in the secure basement car park under the Hospital (off Research Park Drive). Parking charges apply - see website for details.
