Name: Jaimee NobbsJaimee Nobbs
Sport: Figure Skating
Course of Study: Bachelor of Arts (1st year - 2014)
How are you preparing for the Winter University Games? The National Championships took place in December which provided me with great preparation - I finished in 3rd place at this competition and am currently training 18 hours per week, on and off the ice.
What has been your biggest accomplishment as an athlete? I got selected in the Shadow Team of 4 Australian female skaters for the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games which was incredibly humbling.
How do you balance being a professional figure skater and full time student? It's tough but with time management it is possible. I am lucky I have facilities in and around Macquarie University, with the ice rink in the shopping centre. I also find myself trying to do a lot of uni work between sessions and on my off days to get everything finished.
