Club overview

Macquarie University Cricket Club has eight teams proudly wearing the club colours on playing fields across Sydney.

We welcome all players who want to play good standard, competitive cricket. We have access to two turf-pitch ovals maintained by a team of full time groundsmen.

We also have a new turf training facility, and a professional club coach available throughout the season. With some of the best facilities in Sydney, this is the club for you!

We caught up with Club Secretary John Salmond to find out a bit more about the club.

1. What Competitions does the Club participate in and does the club cater for all standards?

As mentioned above the club caters for all standards!  Whether you are wanting to play at a highly competitive standard or at a relaxed level with your mates – we are the club for you!

We compete in the prestigious Sydney Shires Competition (which is the baby brother to Sydney Grade Cricket.) These games are played on high quality turf pitches across Sydney with a mixture of 2 day and 1 day games.  We also field an U24s Colts side which plays in the Frank Gray Shield – this is a separate 1-day competition played on Sundays.  We have a 5th grade side which plays in the local Northern Suburbs Competition.

New initiatives for 2016/17

-      Women’s Cricket

This year the club is delighted to announce it plans to re-introduce Women’s Cricket!! We are wanting to enter a team in the Sydney Women’s Grade Competition.  Whether you have played before at a high level or never even picked up a cricket bat, it doesn’t matter!  We have coaches on board to help you out and if you don’t own any playing equipment, the club will have equipment available to borrow for games!

Please register your interest as early as you can!

-         NSCA Park Cricket

If you and a group of mates want to play in a team together, then we can enter you all into the local Northern Suburbs Competition.  The Club will do all the administrative work for you and supply the balls, stumps and scorebooks!

For more information please get in contact with the club as early as you can!
