Closure of the Recreation Lane
In the effort to address the issue of pool contaminations and to ensure the Swim School continues to deliver a quality, reliable program Macquarie University Sport has undertaken a comprehensive review of operations. As a result of this review, Macquarie University Sport will implement a modified pool configuration in the 25m indoor pool as of Monday 4 May 2015.
From early May, the 25m indoor pool will not have dedicated lap and recreational swimming lanes available on weekdays from 3.30pm - 6.00pm, and on weekends from 7.30am - 12.00pm. The Centre will continue to offer a minimum of three (3) lap swimming lanes in the 50m outdoor pool and remains committed to providing continued recreational swimming opportunities in the 25m pool outside Swim School operational times.
In implementing these changes, Macquarie University Sport is delighted to advise of the expansion of the Swim School program, bringing you a new range of class types and times.
- Additional classes across all program levels to improve availability and give you the opportunity to book at the most convenient time
- Family classes where you can book all of your children into one lesson; and
- Casual private lessons to improve your child's confidence and competence in swimming skills
Your assistance and understanding on this matter is greatly appreciated. Please do not hesitate to speak with the Lifeguards or Swim School Supervisors if you require further assistance.
If you do not have a membership card please see the appropriate administration desk or contact the Swim School on 9850 9408. Please follow the same procedure if you have lost your membership card, keeping in mind the card replacement fee is $2.50.
Every member must have their own membership card and swipe it at the Customer Service Desk every time they come to lessons. Membership cards are our main way of marking attendance so it's really important that all members have a card.
Members that do not have a card and do not notify the appropriate administration staff of their child's non attendance will not eligible for a make up class.

Have you heard about our new Inclusion Program?
We believe every child has the ability to be a gymnast and highly encourage inclusion in our regular classes. Gymnastics is not only about skill development, but also movement patterns, focus, confidence, improvement in strength, range of motion, spatial awareness and a strong sense of achievement, participation and fun!
Our Inclusion Program is individually tailored to meet the needs of each participant and may involve a Private lesson component or participation in a regular class with the addition of an Aid.
Our new Inclusion Program is an initiative to promote access to gymnastics for all children. Private lessons are utilised to allow your gymnast to feel familiar with their surroundings, the equipment and basic gymnastics skills, at their own pace. It is very important to us that your child feels safe, secure, comfortable and enjoys the gymnastics experience. When your gymnast is ready, we encourage transitioning into a regular class with the assistance of an Aid. The Aid is an additional coach on the class, the same coach that took the Private lessons to encourage familiarity and trust (where possible). The Aid assists your gymnast where necessary and alters skills and circuits to support their individual needs, but also encourages independence within a regular class setting, with the intention of potentially stepping away completely.
If you would like to learn more about our Inclusion Program, please contact the Gymnastics Administration Team on 9850 4414 or email@example.com.
