The 2016 Macquarie University Courtyard Challenge will be held on Wednesday 10 August 2016 between 11:45am and 2:00pm at the Lakeside Lawn.
Aims and Objectives
The aim of the Courtyard Challenge is to provide a vibrant and fun major annual event which promotes diversity, social inclusion, business and community engagement, sport, health and fitness at Macquarie University.
The Challenge is based on the historic Great Court Run held at Trinity College, Cambridge, UK and The University of Queensland has hosted a similar courtyard race to great success over the past 24 years.
The Courtyard Challenge has the following objectives:
- To promote diversity at Macquarie University
- To create a traditional University event to raise awareness of health and fitness on campus
- To promote our campus to potential students.
- To promote sport at Macquarie University
Beginning at Macquarie University in 2009, the Courtyard Challenge has promoted diversity across campus for students, staff and the local community.
In previous years, participants of the Courtyard Challenge have included school students from Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME) partner schools, Robert Menzies College, Dunmore Lang College and Macquarie University Village.
The event is recognised as a major Intercollege Sports event and has now been opened up to other students and staff on campus.
