Do you offer trials or assessments for programs?
Yes, you are entitled to one free trial for the gymnastics program.
Do classes run on a term basis?
Classes run on a perpetual basis, they do not break for school holidays (excluding the Christmas period) meaning you are able to join the program all year round. A minimum of twelve weeks commitment is required when joining the program.
When are lessons held?
Please speak with the Programs Administration Desk of the relevant area for a current timetable of the program session times, and availability.
What happens if I miss a lesson?
Swimming and Gymnastics :
Gymnastics and Swim School members are eligible for two make up lessons per quarter. Quarters: 1 January - 31 March, 1 April - 30 June, 1 July - 30 September, 1 October - 31 December. A member must notify the administration team a minimum of 24 hours prior to the start of the lesson via email or phone.
For medical absences within 24 hours of a class, the Programs Administration Team must be notified prior to the start of the class and a medical certificate must be supplied in person or via email, within 24 hours of the missed class commencement.
Make up lesson bookings must be made within 24 hours of the selected class time. Bookings can not be made prior to this time. All make up lessons are subject to availability.
Please note that we have allowed an exception to our current quarter (1 April - 30 June) - If a student misses their class in the last 2 weeks of the quarter (19 June - 30 June) the expiry of this make-up lesson will be pushed back until 16 July, giving you an extra 2 weeks. No further exceptions will be granted.
Members are unable to accrue make up lessons or credit for missed lessons.
I am going away on holidays, can I suspend my membership?
Unfortunately we do not offer suspensions. If you are going away on holidays we do suggest you cancel your program membership and then re-join when you return.
What happens after my minimum 12 weeks?
After your minimum 12 weeks has finished, your membership is ongoing until you choose to cancel.
How do I cancel my membership?
After fulfilling the minimum twelve (12) weeks, members can cancel with 15 days' notice. A cancellation form must be completed at the Programs Administration Desk. Cancellations are not accepted over the phone or email.
When are the Programs Administration Desks open?
Programs Administration Desk (Swim School): Monday - Friday 8:45am - 12:00pm and 3:00pm - 6:30pm, Saturday 8:00am - 3:30pm and Sunday 8:00am - 12:00pm (excluding public holidays).
Programs Administration Desk (Gymnastics): Monday - Friday 9:15am - 12:00pm and 3:30pm - 6:15pm, Saturday 8:00am - 4:00pm and Sunday 9:00am - 12:00pm (excluding public holidays).
Please note that we are able to respond to your enquiry at either of the above desks, regardless of if it is Swim School or Gymnastics specific.
Do you have another payment method besides fortnightly direct debit?
No, the only payment method we offer is ongoing fortnightly direct debit.
What do we need to bring to lessons?
Swimming:All swimmers must wear a swimming cap while in the pools. It is advised that you should also wear goggles to avoid any eye irritation. Swimming caps, goggles and swimming costumes are available for purchase at the retail outlet at the Member Engagement Desk.
Gymnastics:Adult gymnasts should wear comfortable sport clothing. Tights, shorts, t-shirts and singlets are appropriate attire. All participants are to have their hair tied back and no jewellery is to be worn to classes. Clothes should be tight fitting as lose clothing can be dangerous during gymnastics activity
Is the swimming pool open through winter?
Yes. Swimming is not just a summer sport. To ensure you get the most out of your swimming lessons, it is recommended that swimming be continued through winter to ensure continued improvement and reinforcement of skills.
