Assisting people with disabilities

During an emergency, any attempt to carry a mobility impaired person should be discouraged due to the risk of personal injury

However, where absolutely necessary, at least two persons may assist in transporting a mobility-impaired person to a safe area (eg. A fire stairwell)

A Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) details the emergency evacuation procedures for a mobility impaired person

Macquarie University Health & Safety are able to assist with the development of any personal evacuation plan
