About the service

The interlibrary loan service, or document supply, helps eligible staff and students locate and request items not held by the library. These can include books, research reports, theses as well as copies of journal articles, chapters from books or conference papers required for your research and teaching.

The service is free, except for urgent request or requests costing $65 or more.

2 hour express request cost $33.00 (incl GST)
24 hour rush request cost $16.50 (incl GST)

Please contact staff immediately after submitting an urgent request. You will need to quote the request number.

Using the service

The document supply/interlibrary loan service is used by academics, professional staff, postgraduate and higher degree research students, as well as Distance Education Students. For most users there is no need to register - login to MultiSearch using using your MQ username and password, and place your request.

You will receive an email when the item is available. Download chapters and articles from the document supply system using the link received in the email. Loans can be collected from the Collection point, level 2, Library.

All loans should be returned to Macquarie University Library.

If you wish to renew an item contact Interlibrary loan staff directly. Interlibrary loans cannot be renewed online.
