Learning, teaching and research
Transforming our students and staff for life.
Essentially, learning, teaching and research are our core purpose. It is through activities in these areas that we will realise our full potential to address social responsibility and drive forward sustainable development. Through formal and informal curricula, skills training and development, knowledge transfer and research, we can have a significant, positive long-term impact on society. Ensuring students are exposed to learning experiences that maximise their opportunities to graduate as sustainability-literate citizens is arguably the most important step towards a sustainable future.
The most significant long-term outputs that we will have on wider society are arguably our students and our research output. The importance of ensuring these elements have sustainability contained within their approach is therefore crucial. As such, we seek to identify sustainability in research as well as opportunities for engaging in research that is socially and environmentally responsible. We also aim to link curriculum and research with facilities and operations to enable the development of a campus-as-classroom, or living laboratory, ethos.
