Strategic initiatives

Strategic initiatives

Macquarie University's strategic framework, Our University: A Framing of Futures was launched on 28 August, 2013. The strategic initiatives directly align with the seven strategic priorities outlined in the Framing of Futures strategic framework.

See the latest updates on these initiatives.

Strategic initiatives are finite-duration (6 to 18 months) discretionary projects and programs, outside of the University's day-to-day operations, designed to help the University achieve its targeted performance.

This small portfolio of initiatives:

  • Deliver strategic impact, specifically addressing medium- or long-term strategic objectives
  • Require Executive-level leadership and visibility
  • Have impact across organisational boundaries, reflected by sponsorship of more than one member of the Executive (dual sponsorship)
  • Are prioritised above other work
  • Have formal Executive endorsement, are documented up front and have progress reported to the Executive at least quarterly
  • Collectively constitute the set of activities likely to transform the University
  • Are resourced in terms of prioritised allocation of discretionary time and other resources

You can use the online feedback form to submit ideas with respect to Our University strategy and implementation.
